April 10, 1965: Signed as a Free Agent with the California Angels, after being released by the Baltimore Orioles.
May 14, 1965: Released by the California Angels.

ANGELS DEBUT:
With 1 out in the bottom of the second, he grounded out to Ray Oyler (shortstop to first) off pitcher Mickey Lolich in an eventual 4-2 win against the Detroit Tigers on Monday, April 19, 1965 (N) at Chavez Ravine.

ANGELS RECORD:
Failed to get a hit in 5 at bats over 4 games but scored a run and had an RBI. Had a fielding percentage of 1.000 making 3 putouts in 3 chances.

Best Angels Performance:
In his debut game (see above) he went 0 for 2 but hit a sac-fly scoring Jim Fregosi.

- Originally signed by the Brooklyn Dodgers as an amateur free agent in 1949.
- Also played for the Dodgers (56-58); Cardinals (59); Pirates (60-61); Braves (61); Athletics (62-64); and Orioles (64).
- Appeared in 1 game as a defensive replacement for the Brooklyn Dodgers in the 1956 World Series.
- Named to NL team for the 1957 All-Star Game, had 1 plate appearance.
- First man to come to the plate in a West Coast game (1958 Opening Day Dodgers at Giants)
- Appeared in all 7 games for the Pirates and hit .250 when they won the 1960 World Series.
- Led the AL in triples (15) in 1962.

    I always wondered about that guy. The one Angels' card I had of him was from '65 (same pic as in your signature card above) and it has no stats of him on Angels, but being a high number card it tells you he was released in May (my card says May 9, 1965).
    Nice site, I never guessed there was another Angels fan in Texas, figured I was only one... haha.
    I had plans to see them play Rangers on Saturday, 5/14, wish I had.
