Sent these 3 cards to Tom at the Pirates minor league complex in Bradenton, FL on February 15, 2013, where he was somehow involved with the Pirates minor leaguers. His bio on the Altoona Curve website, where he is now the manager, has no stat line for 2013, like he wasn't even employed by the Pirates. Weird.
Anyhow, 886 days later I received them back, postmarked from Johnstown, PA (about a 45 minute drive from Altoona).
Begs the question, "Where were the cards during those 886 days?"
He was the manager of Bradenton last year; perhaps your cards were misplaced. At least they traveled with him to Altoona. I got him in person last year.
ReplyDeleteMy best guess is that a lot of retired players let the mail pile up in a box somewhere - it maybe in the garage, back of the closet, in storage, et al; maybe the former player [or a wife, etc] was going through them and figured, why not send them back.
