ANGELS DEBUT:

Started the third in relief of starter Don Lee who had given up 3 runs in the first two innings. First batter he faced was Ed Charles who lined out to second baseman Billy Moran; Norm Siebern then struck out; and Gino Cimoli lined to first. He pitched 2 scoreless innings with 3 strikeouts in a 4-3 loss to the Kansas City Athletics in the nightcap of a double-header on Wednesday, June 19, 1963 (N) at Chavez Ravine.

- Hit only 1 major-league home run, for Detroit, on May 27, 1961 a lead-off homer in the 6th off Don Larson of the White Sox.

- Threw a 15K complete game loss (6-5) to the Washington Senators on July 28, 1956. The 15K was a Tigers team record at the time.
- Loved to face Hector Lopez who was 16 for 82 against him with 13 strikeouts and a .195 avg.
- From 1956 to 1959, he won 58 games for the Tigers and pitched over 200 innings each year

- Served up the first of the 61 home runs hit by Roger Maris in 1961.

- Allowed four consecutive home runs to the Indians, the only pitcher to do so in the 20th Century, on July 31, 1963.
