Ross gives up 4 runs on 6 hits in 4.1 innings for a no-decision, while Jim Palmer (5-2) gave up 6 runs on 9 hits in 7.1 innings for the loss. The win goes to Don Kirkwood (1-0) for 3.2 innings of relief. Dave LaRoche gets the save, his 5th of the year. Bobby Bonds hit his 7th HR of the young season, a solo shot off Palmer in the second. The Angels are now 14-17.
