Swing And A Popup Gets Himself A Rack Pack.

Well, I guess there weren't as many collectors as I thought sitting on 1991 Upper Deck baseball.

Swing and a Popup takes the prize though with 27 points which will net him a rack pack of his choice, and will net me 27 of the 32 base cards I need.
Send me an email with your mailing address and I'll get that pack out to you.
Maybe I can trade back for any Angels you pull!

Bleedin Brown and Gold offered to trade 6 holograms for Padres cards...
send me your mailing address as well and I'll get a stack out to you in return.

Jeff gets in on the action too with a few cards Swing didn't have, so Jeff again,
email me and we'll work out a trade for those.

Thanks all for participating!

1977 Salt Lake Gulls Schedule

The 1977 Salt Lake Gulls were the Angels AAA team in the Pacific Coast League.  The Gulls were affiliated with the Angels from 1975-1981.

Of the 4 teams in the PCL East Division in 1977 the Gulls went 74-65 behind manager Jimy Williams, finishing 6.5 games behind the Phoenix Giants.

Some of the bigger names on the Gulls were Willie Aikens, Ken Landreaux, Rance Mulliniks, and Dickie Thon.

Gene Fullmer "The West Jordan Mauler" was a local legend.  He was a middle weight boxer from 1951-1964, winning the World Middleweight Title in 1957 from Sugar Ray Robinson.  Fullmer's career record was 55 wins (24 by KO), 6 losses, and 3 draws.
It appears his restaurant, advertised here, closed up in the mid 80's.

Derks Field opened in 1947 and housed the Gulls until 1984 when the franchise (now a part of the Mariners system) moved to Calgary and became the Cannons.  Derks Field was closed down in 1993.

My LCS recently put out a box of 2012 Bowman Platinum for a quarter each.  I grabbed about half the box I needed for this set.  Still a bit to go, but the end is in sight.

Mail Autographs Because That's An Easy Post

A couple more TTM returns to post about because it's easy.  I've been trading pocket schedules like gangbusters lately and that's been taking up a lot of my time.  So here's a couple autographs so that I can at least get a post out.

Phil Nevin was on Team USA in 1991 and played for the Angels in 1998.
He also played his college ball for arch rival Cal State Fullerton.
He signed these cards in 21 days c/o the Toledo Mud Hens.

Another former Angel Ruben Amaro Jr. signed these cards c/o the Phillies.

The End.
