Mail Day Autographs - Harold Jackson

Harold Jackson (Patriots 1978-1981, 1987)
(Patriots WR Coach 1985-1989)
Harold was let go last October from his coaching job at Jackson State University after a 1-4 start, so I had to wait to see if he would pick up signing again from his home in California.  He did.
Returned in 21 days from his home in Los Angeles, CA.

New To The Animated Batman Collection

Picked this up on ebay recently for the Animated Batman collection.

1993 Promo Card
Batman walking; unnumbered, oversized; Previews

This was a dealer promotional card for 1993 Topps Batman The Animated Series Trading cards Series Two.  A 5x7 card with an insert of a regular-sized card typical of the Series Two set to be released.  Topps nailed it with the card they selected for the promo.

I suppose you could cut the actual promo card from the  oversized card if you wanted to.
I will not.

Recent Acquisitions

Auctions I've won on Listia, to fill some needs.

1995 Upper Deck SP Championship Series #158
Always youthful Wally Joyner.

1986 Fleer Checklist #655
Angels checklist to go with the team set.
I wanted this card that was in a 4-card lot of 1986 Donruss simply because it was a checklist card.
It wasn't until I received it that I realized the Angels were on the back, and that I needed it for my team set.

1993 Skybox
I offered the seller 4500 credits for 8 of the Patriots cards they had listed individually, even though I only needed these 5.  They rejected the offer.
I ended up winning these 5 for a total of 498 credits.
I think I made out the better on that deal.

2015 Topps Whatever Works WW-11
For the Napoli Player Collection
Naps headed where now? Cleveland?

1994 Panini Baseball Stickers #5
And a hard-to-scan Panini sticker for the Olerud Player Collection.

2014 Prizm BH16 and 2014 Finest #116
Still waiting for Jimmy's big break.

1987 Fleer #641
You never know you still need these multi-player cards until you come across one and have to run to the team binder to see if you have it.
They don't often show up in team sets or team checklists.
I creased it when I pulled it from the envelope.
Good times.

Cards From A Card Papoy

A little while back The Card Papoy offered up a bunch of different lots of cards.  I selected and received a lot of cards featuring Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders.  I have a Bo Jackson player collection so I was excited to get a bunch more cards towards that effort.

I picked only 9 from the stack of Bo Jackson cards to feature.
The other stack of Deion Sanders cards have been forwarded to another collector with a Deion PC.

Kevin also included a bunch of other Angels in the package, including these niceties:
2000 Fleer Showcase Fresh Ink Certified Autograph

2010 Allen & Ginter's Framed Mini Red Bat Relic AGR-THU

2007 Upper Deck Game Materials UD-VG

Thanks Kevin.

12-3 Patriots Gameday Autographs

Week 17 Mail Returns

Raymond Berry (Patriots Coach 1984-1989)
I received Raymond Berry's autograph a long time ago when I only had an index card for him to sign.
After seeing a recent success on Cards of Future Fenway Stars I thought it time to send Mr. Berry some real cards.
Ten days later a stuffed envelope came back that included my two cards, a signed custom postcard, signed business-type card, a "Shirt Pocket Bible", very thoughtful answers to my questionaire, and a slip of paper asking about the background of my family name...it's a hobby of Mr. Berry's, and a SASE.  I immediately sat down and responded to him.  I hope to hear back again.

Mr. Berry is a Christian, so I asked him about how he spends time with Lord:
"Study scripture like a football player studies the game..and for the same reasons (at least several of the same reasons): Know and be prepared for your opponent. Learn what your weapons are (the Word of God and the Holy Spirit) and how to use 'em. Do what your coach says - scripture: "My aim in not my own will, but the will of Him who sent me."

Awesome.  I love this guy.

Todd Collins (Patriots 1992-1998)
Todd started in 2 Superbowls: Super Bowl XXXI for the Patriots, and Super Bowl XXXIV for the Rams.
Todd signed these cards in 12 days from his home in New Market, TN.
