Todays Mail: Paul Casanova

Paul Casanova played in 859 games for the Senators and Braves from 1965 to 1974. He signed my 1967 and 1970 Topps, as well as the index card, in 122 days. As you can see, the 1970 Topps suffered from the dreaded "smudge". This one looks more like a smear than a fingerprint, which happens from time to time as well.

Casanova had a great game against the Angels on August 21, 1966 when he went 4 for 4 with a double and a two-run home run, contributing to the 7-4 win over the Halos. Angels starting pitcher Ramon Lopez was making his Major League debut, but lasted only 2 innings.
