St. Louis Cardinals (1945-1948)
Cincinatti Reds (1948-1949)

Major League Umpire (1952-1974)

"I would love to answer all your questions. The Baseball ...."
I can't tell what he wrote after that. 

Worked three World Series (1962, 1964, 1970) and four All-Star Games (1959, 1962, 1967, 1973).
Officiated in eight no-hitters.

Correspondence received January 2004.

Burkhart passed away December 29, 2004 at the age of 88.

  2. Mr. Burkhart was in his late 80's. I'd say he earned himself a pass. Wasn't familiar with him, but dedicating almost 30 years of his life to baseball is impressive.

  4. How about this? "I would love to answer all your questions. The Baseball Officer good guy for all the key answers." He could have been directing you to MLB's Chief Baseball Officer overseeing umpires.
