Completed Set - 1989 Cap'n Crunch

Two cards purchased off of sportslots is what it took to finally complete this set.  I had been sitting on it since 1989.

This sweet little 22 card set was issued in 1989 and came in boxes of Cap'n Crunch cereal.  Each box contained two cards and a stick of gum.  You had to buy the boxes of cereal in order to complete the set, as a no mail in for the set was offered.

The cards featured some of the bigger names of the day, except unfortunately, Nolan Ryan.  The players uniform number is featured inside a baseball, and all MLB logos have been airbrushed out.

The only real flaws in my set are found on the Jack Clark card which has a nice horizontal crease and a crimped bottom edge.

The backs were simple and included lifetime statistics and a couple bulleted highlights.
