Junk Mall Junk Wax Wednesday

The local junk mall was having their Christmas sale last weekend so I figured I'd drop in and look for more of the $5 baggies of baseball cards that might have more of the '75 Topps in them that I posted about last week. I dug through probably about 15 baggies of baseball cards, mostly with '89-'91 Score and '87-'91 Topps, and about 5 baggies of football cards with mostly early '90s Score and Pro Set. Amongst them I found this:

Everything in the booth was 20% off so I got this baggie of 122 cards for only $4. It was the only one left that had older cards in it. Let's see what's inside, oldest to newest.

Two rather worn 1973 Topps. I don't think that's an actual autograph on the Ferguson, more likely a child's scribble. In better shape that'd be a pretty cool '73.

Fourteen more 1975 Topps. Too bad the Sundberg RC is miscut.

Just four 1976 Topps.

Tied for biggest lot in the baggie was thirty-three 1977 Topps, mostly of Dodgers, Angels, Indians, and Mariners (all of the Mariners have airbrushed hats). Any Dick Pole lovers out there? hee-hee. Do you think he looped is "L" like that for a reason?

Thirty-three 1978 Topps.
These were all in pretty nice condition, and one of the better Topps designs IMO.

The rest of the cards were as follows:

One 1979 Topps.
One 1983 Topps.
Six 1986 Topps.
Sixteen 1987 Topps.
Twelve 1988 Topps.

Including this sweet miscut.

  1. Gee whiz, that's great stuff. Makes me want to check out my local flea market and the sort-of new card shop. Day off tomorrow, but of course it's supposed to snow. :(

  3. Great deal for that bag! I'm not sure what there is for that kind of store in my area. We just got some fresh snow last night. Heading for below zero the next two days. Stay warm!
