Angels Come South for the Winter (and Stay Forever)

As I noted in the latest Mark Trumbo post, I recently completed a very nice trade with the very nice guy who runs the blog Pictures of Men. His name is Dennis and he hails from the Great Nation of Canada.

Dennis of course collects Blue Jays, and I, hailing from the Great State of Southern California, (but living in Texas) collect Angels.

Dennis sent a really nice assortment of Angels, and a very nice variety as well. I found chrome, refractors, parallels, numbered, SPs, gold, mini, and even several base cards!

I picked out a sampling of what I found in the enveope from Toronto.

2009 Goudey Heads Up #296 Vladimir Guerrero Black 17/21.  Totally BITCHEN!

2009 Goodwin Champions #227 Ervin Santana Black Border Mini Gypsy back. AWESOME!

2009 Topps 206 #267 Jered Weaver and #96 Vladimir Guerrero Minis. YES!

2001 Topps Stars #114 Troy Glaus.  What a sweet design. SWEET!

Two King Fish.  1993 Flair #177 the epitomy of high gloss cards, and 2003 Fleer Tradition #265.  Dig the retro design.  I've been toying with collecting this set. SALMON!

1988 Topps....oh, wait, these came from Canada remember?  Look closely, they're O-Pee-Chee.  And one's a Wally Joyner O-Pee-Chee at that. OH CANADA!

2009 Topps Gold #461 Mike Scioscia 0881/2009. SCIOSH!

An awesome looking 2008 Topps Heritage Chrome #C272 Erick "Gold Glove" Aybar 1640/1959. AY-RIBA!

And rounding it out, a clean shaven Mike "Should Be MVP of the Texas Rangers and MVP of Everything Postseason" Napoli.  Love you Naps. NAP-O-LEE!

  1. So glad you like the cards!

I had a lot of fun putting that package together & I'll be sure to keep you in mind when I come across Angels cards.

    Thanks again for the trade!
