Well That Was A Doozie

As mentioned earlier, I recently completed my 500th trade on TCDB, and for the 500th it was a nice, big trade. I'll get to that in a minute. First let's look at some of my TCDB trade statistics up to and including that 500th trade.

I signed up for TCDB on January 27, 2012.

My first trade however was not until February 14, 2023 (borosny) I wish I hadn't waiting that long!

My 500th trade was made on July 25, 2025, less than a year and a half later.

I've had 334 different trade partners from 2 countries: USA and Canada.

I've traded the most with jsteved (10x).

I've Withdrawn 57 proposals (usually after 2 weeks with no response) and have had 40 Declined from other traders for various reasons.

I've received 5,395 cards and traded 4,900 cards (and I thought I was doing great at giving away extra cards. Guess you can't outgive these folk).

There was only 1 trade where I never received the cards in return, and the guy disappeared.

I have 100% positive feedback.

At the moment I have 5 trades In Progress, 1 in Offers, and 1 in Proposed.

And I'm loving it.

Now the 500th, a very nice trade from Balzer with whom I've traded 5 times.

That's 66 cards right there, thanks Balzer.

Now let's see how fast I can get to 1000!

Inching Closer

Getting closer to a TCDB milestone, if you want to call it that, my 500th trade. But first, here are some other cards.

Return Fire from Thoughts and Sox for a BAG I sent him.

TCDB Trade #496 and #497 With Golden Eagle555

Boy I love those Bowmans Best, what a nice design.

One of the cards offered in the original transaction came up missing so Steffan offered these five as a replacement, under a separate transaction number.

TCDB Trade #498 With somnus2

No longer a high priority set build but I still pick up cards here and there when I can.

TCDB Trade #499 With Elway744

Focused on promo and game cards in this trade, got some beauties.

Next up is my 500th TCDB trade.

An Elephant Never Forgets

I'm not calling Bo an elephant, but like the saying, he didn't forget (although I did) that I sent him some stuff a while ago, so he's now returning the favor, starting the weeks mail off with a nice little package.

Return Fire From Bo (Baseball Cards Come To Life)

Lots of nice little gems in there.
And I'm calling Polonia safe.

TCDB Trade With jamestagli

A couple Jordan Walden autos for the All-Time Angels collection.

Down to needing just 3 cards now for the 1993 Ted Williams base set.

TCDB Trade With jweech

Not a fan of over-sized cards, and definitely not a fan of Rendon, but sometimes you have to.

Collecting Patriots in the middle of Summer kinda bothers me.

TCDB Trade With ryanvantol

I wouldn't mind if True Value put out cards again.
More Summer Patriots, which were offers, not asks.

Bought Myself A Little Treat

I used to be a big-time Hot Wheels collector. Most of those are now gone, I think I have maybe a box of them left, less than 50 pieces still on the card, and several of those carrying cases of loose cars. I will admit though that I still check the Hot Wheels aisle from time-to-time, but now I only look for Sharkruisers, the one model I still collect.

Today I was in Dollar Tree getting some stuff, and although I didn't find a Sharkruiser, I did see this:

A fun pack with a mystery car!

Although not a COMPLETE mystery, I wasn't too impressed with the 10 cars that were available to pull, but hey, for a couple bucks why not?

Comes with a little comic book full of games, and two pretty cool sticker sheets.

I'm sure I can find somewhere to stick these.

And the mystery car?......

Lethal Diesel

Okay, not too corny like some of the other ones.
I'll keep it.

Mail From S.R.'75

Stuart hit me up with some sorely needed OPC cards, including some checklists and most of the 1992 Angels team set. He threw in a #444 card that I needed as well.

He also gave me a near complete UD 40-Man team set and other nice Angels cards.
Thanks Stuart. I always got my eye on your wantlists.

Free Vintage Hockey

Sorry, no, not for you, but for me through a kind collector on TCDB giving away some worn vintage hockey cards to the first to ask.

I was the second, and I claimed the 72-73 Topps lot:

TCDB PIF From headbum

I don't actively collect hockey except for Theoren Fleury, but these were just too cool to pass up. They'll make a nice page in my Random binder.

And now to the rest of this week's trades.

Junk Mall Junk Wax Wednesday

Ripping a random pack of junk wax from the local junk mall.

1990 CMC

Pack of 12 with no inserts pull possible.
Best cards to pull would be a Bagwell or Frank Thomas rookie.

You're seeing that right, two different card designs in this 880-card set.

Which means two different backs:

The numbering system was pretty messed up in this set as well.

See that 22 on Jeffersons card? That's not the card number for this set. Not his jersey number either as he wears a number ending in 3 on the front. That 22 is the card number for this card in the 1990 CMC Nashville Sounds team set. And those have a green back. The tiny CMC number on the bottom is the card number...147.

See the 1113 on Starks card? Nope that's not the card number for this set as it only goes to 880. That's the number for this card in the 1990 ProCards set. That card has a different photo of Stark and the back is slightly different with a Gatorade logo. This card is number 746 as noted in the lower right corner.

Why CMC? Whyyyyyy?

Good times.
