Battle of the Bulge(ing) Box From ARPSmiths

A while back ARPSmith's put a call out for team collectors to claim their team because he had a ton of stock to trade out. I claimed the Angels of course and shortly thereafter received a Priority mailer literally bulging with Angels cards. Probably about 8 team bags stuffed full. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of it before I tore in.

Right on top was this jumbo
1998 Pinnacle Zenith Z52
I finally wised up a while back and bought 2-pocket pages to store these large cards. I had been just piling them in to sheet protectors.

1988 Topps Box Bottom A-D
Another large card for the 2-pocket pages!
This is great because it will replace the gently used version I currently have. And it is expertly trimmed. Boone was the only Angels player in this box bottom set.

1994 Mothers Tim Salmon ROY #3
Last card I needed for this special Tim Salmon ROY 4-card set.

1995 Donruss Press Proof
Gold foil instead of silver, and "PRESS PROOF" stamped on front, these were inserted just 1 in every 20 packs. The back says "1st 2,000 Printed"

2004 Donruss Throwback Threads #3, Gold Proof 043/100

2004 Upper Deck Reflections #98, Red 48/50
Oh so close!
Other than a 1/1, does anyone actually have the final numbered card of numbered series like 499/499? That would be cool to have.

I started seeing a trend in that bulging box of Angels cards, like how many HOFers once played for the Angels (and how many future HOFers still are).

No picture to prove it, but again, that box was a bulging heap of Angels cards.
Much appreciated!

  1. Lots of great cards there. Love the post and their were a few sets I wasn't familiar with. Plenty of great Angels there.

  2. Great cards! I claimed the Rangers and the box was awesome! On a side note, one of my favorite Andrew Shaw Card is my SP Authentic rookie #d 999/999

  3. Box bottoms and 1998 Zenith Dare to Tear cards. It doesn't get much better than that.

  4. That Glaus must look really cool in person.

I'm almost done finishing up a package for you, but did you happen to receive the one I sent you near the end of last year?
