One Page of Bobby Winkles

This series will highlight "one page" at a time from my binder of correspondence and autographs from former Angels and Patriots players and personnel.


   Bob Winkles Manager California Angels 1973-1974
I sent to Mr. Winkles twice. The first time (top) was sometime prior to 2004, and the second time (lower) in 2005 included the 1973 Topps card. Bobby Winkles just passed away recently in April, he was 90.

    Oh man. Hadn't heard about Winkles passing away. GCRL hooked me up with his signature a few years ago and I had to look him up. He managed the A's back in 1978, but resigned because he was tired of dealing with Charlie Finley (not the Angels pitcher, but the A's owner).

    I like this page! I've seen that '73 Topps many times, but never knew anything about him.
