I Want to Rip Some Superman

I'm pretty close to finishing this set but since I haven't ripped a pack since the 90's I thought it would be cool to revisit the thrill.

I found this 3-pack lot on ebay for cheap.
Let's see what we get.

Nope, already have all of these.

Need one in this pack: Schemes of Evil!

This turned out to be a good pack as I needed four of these.

I'm now within about ten cards of completion and hoping to add those via some TCDB trades.

  2. I’m not familiar with these cards or that timeframe of Superman. I collected Superman comics for several years before the John Byrne relaunch.

  4. I remember a time in the early 1990s when they came out that they were very hard to get.

  5. Never seen these before... which is weird, because I worked at a card shop and actually liked opening Marvel & DC related packs. I'm guessing these are from around 1993 or mid 1994 when I was on a break from the hobby.

  6. Opening some original packs is always a fun way to help complete a set. Keep us posted on the progress!

  7. Didn't know Superman had a mullet. Never been into him as much as Batman. Never really been much into comics at all though, other than the original Star Wars comics.

  8. I bought a few of these. I remember being kinda bummed at the artwork when compared to the Marvel Hildebrandt release. Plus there were Star Trek and Star Wars CCG cards to buy.

  9. This is one of the few comic related sets from the early to mid 90's that I never opened packs from. I do remember seeing them though, I just wasn't into this version of Superman at the time.
